Sense of perception

Our sense of perception has been dictated by rituals and customs since birth. We are by-products of our parents, siblings, other family members, friends and societies. Everything that we've been exposed to has had an effect on our life, consciously and sub-consciously, whether we like it or not. This is how evolution works, whether of the mind or the physical self, we are merely a genetic and memetic¹ result.

¹ – a cultural or behavioural element passed on by imitation or other non-genetic means.

The senses are meant to serve as guides for our journey through this reality, so in turn we have been attuned through evolution to detect the correct stream of data which we are being confronted with. Unfortunately our senses are not attuned perfectly to this reality. There are flaws to our senses as evolutionary biology has shown. There are even “areas” where we completely lack the natural ability to detect, as in the case of sonar. So this in turn must make you wonder, what is it that we will never perceive.
